How the online ECCE course works

You apply online, an adviser confirms your level, and after full payment you receive a username and password. You then study each module online at your own pace and pass its MCQ test or assignment before moving on. At Diploma and PG Diploma level you also complete case studies and lesson plans reviewed by instructors, and the Diploma ends with a project. Your certificate is sent after satisfactory completion.

Step by step

  • Fill in the online application or quick enquiry form.
  • An admissions adviser explains the course and confirms your level.
  • Pay online in INR, USD or GBP and receive your login.
  • Study each module and pass its MCQ test or assignment; correct answers are shown after you attempt.
  • At Diploma level and above, complete case studies and lesson plans reviewed by instructors.
  • Complete the final module (and the project at Diploma level) and receive your certificate.

Teaching approach

The courses focus on the whole child from birth to six: care, health and safety, development, play-based learning and child psychology, so you can apply what you learn with real children.

Tutor and mentor support

Tutors and mentors support learners throughout the course, and admissions answer questions by email, phone and WhatsApp.

Practical experience

Practical placement is not built into the online course. If you have not worked with young children before, arrange supervised time in a preschool, nursery, daycare or anganwadi while you study, and ask admissions whether a letter can support your placement.

Study time

The Certificate is designed for up to 6 months, the Diploma 10 months, the PG Diploma 12 months, Master Level 18 months and Integrated Master Level 24 months. You can finish sooner; fast-track is optional on the first three levels and free at Master levels.

What you need to study

  • A phone, tablet or computer with internet (a laptop is easiest for case studies)
  • An email address and WhatsApp
  • Around 4 to 6 hours a week
  • Ideally, some time with young children to apply what you learn

After you finish

You receive your certificate from London College of Teachers Limited (UKPRN 10096558), which employers can verify online. You can then progress to a higher level, add a specialism or start applying for jobs.

A sample six-month plan for the ECCE Certificate

  • Months 1–2: module 1 and its MCQ test

  • Months 5–6: module 3, final test and certificate

Support while you study

Questions about content go to your tutor or mentor; questions about your account, payments or certificate go to admissions. Both are available by email, phone and WhatsApp.
